The emergency department at Fairview Northland Medical Center has a special room just for kids. The new pediatric exam room has been designed with little ones in mind to ease the stress children often feel. In addition to age- and size-appropriate equipment and technology, the room has been painted with a beautiful mural. This mural, created by Jodi Sternquist of “Imaginary Walls”, depicts an outdoor scene filled with animals, birds, flowers and trees. Sternquist estimates that she put 50 hours of design, sketching, and painting into the colorful and realistic mural.
The new pediatric exam room is part of the new in 2005 emergency department at Fairview Northland Medical Center. In addition, the expansion project included all-new OB, lab, radiology and surgical departments.
